Chefsline started in a Shoreditch kitchen in 2024, when our founders spent a month eating nothing but takeaway and realised two things: the food was great, but everything around it — tracking, refunds, rider pay, restaurant margins — felt like an afterthought.
We built Chefsline to put the meal first: fewer hops between kitchen and door, fairer economics for restaurants, and software good enough that you barely notice it's there.
Independent restaurants lose 20–30% of every order to most marketplaces. Riders take home even less. Customers wait in uncertainty. We think that's the wrong trade.
Our job is to pick the boring, unglamorous work — routing, batching, payments, dispute handling — and do it so well that the money goes back where it belongs: to the people cooking and the people delivering.
Warm over fast. Speed matters, but a hot bag of food at the right door beats a cold bag at the right minute.
Restaurants are the product. We're the delivery layer. If a restaurant can't make money on Chefsline, nothing else matters.
Boring where it counts. Payments, refunds, allergen data — all the things you only notice when they go wrong — get the same attention as the flashy stuff.
Local, on purpose. We build for neighbourhoods first. The corner chippy should be as reachable as the chain.
Chefsline is headquartered at 4 Princelet Street, London E1 6QH. We're about 40 people across engineering, operations, design, and partner success — half of us within walking distance of the office, half working remotely across the UK and EU.
